Texas Teen Who Sucker-Punched People for Attention Expresses Regret

A Texas teen who was filmed sucker-punching random individuals at local parks has been identified.

Alford Lewis has expressed regret for his actions, acknowledging his mistake.

In an interview near the tranquil Wortham Park, where he is accused of the attacks, Lewis addressed the incident.

"Do you regret it?" Jason Miles asked.

"Yes, yes I do," Lewis replied.

The 19-year-old, Alford Lewis, discussed his current feelings about the situation.

"I just made a mistake, and everybody makes mistakes," Lewis said.

In the video, Lewis is seen hitting a man from behind, causing the victim to turn around in shock.

"I know the video only shows the negative part, but what people didn't see was that I shook his hand and gave him a hug afterward," Lewis claimed.

This aspect of the story has not been verified, nor has it been confirmed whether another man shown being punched in the video left on amicable terms, as Lewis asserts.

"I really didn’t expect things to escalate like this," Lewis admitted.

Law enforcement is currently investigating the incident, and both of Lewis's parents are aware of the situation.

"Your mom’s probably disappointed?" Miles inquired.

"Yes, she is," Lewis responded.

Lewis mentioned that the strong reaction to the video has prompted him to reconsider his behavior and hopes it serves as a lesson to others.

"Before you do anything you think might be harmful or that could be perceived badly, make sure people understand or just avoid doing it altogether," Lewis advised.

The Harris County Sheriff’s Office Violent Crimes Division is handling the investigation. The individuals seen being punched may need to file charges for further legal action.
